Speaking of bringing it all home and making it personal, my dear friend Martin just told me that he had been working in the post office that has now been sealed off due to anthrax. He hasn't been tested (apparently no one will pay for it), but he was given some Cipro-- he notes he was given a 10-day supply even though a 50-day supply is necessary for any effect.
