spent the day in wellington's gorgeous botanical gardens. happily it was a perfect day weather-wise. and it being monday here in new zealand most people were at work so we had much of the gardens to ourselves. to get to the gardens you first take a short cable car up a large hill. it's historic and fun. then you can spend hours and hours walking around different gardens, going to cafes or visitor centers or observatories or just relaxing by the flowers or duck pond. at one point i said to walter: 'hey, i'm looking for bugs, hold up. by the way, if you happen to see any giant crickets or grasshoppers that are the size of your hand, be sure to lemme know. walter: "oh, you'll definitely know." it's been a beautiful day in wellington.
