had a good night sleep in bkk last night. so glad i came back a day early to prepare for the next leg of my journey. gave me time to rest after that long trip yesterday. today my friend Alan here in bkk took me on a tour of the grand palace. he works as a tour guide in his work life and so showing me around was easy for him to do. he told me lots of stories about the places we were visiting in the grand palace. the most spectacular room was of course the room that photos are not allowed. it's the main temple wear the jade buddha is. we had to take off our shoes and hat and be quiet and kneel on the ground after going in to show respect. and again, no photos. but it was beautiful inside. and the green-colored buddha was beautiful. below are some random photos from today's bangkok adventure. tonight i'm flying to malaysia for the weekend and then cambodia for next week. i'll keep you posted.
