realized my dear friend martin died a few months ago. hadn't been able to reach him for a long while and then finally did the obvious thing and checked his facebook status where there were updates from his friends and family. goodbye dear sweet martin; you were always incredibly important to me. love you

each year my mom puts on a huge production of our traditional gift exchanges, decorations, food & fun. most people who do this much organizing work get paid thousands of dollars for party planning, she does it for free. thank you dear mama

she managed to escape her 9-5 shackles too! man she's totally Houdini and it's impossible to keep her cone on her. unbelievable

well I think I finally got my cat's cone locked on her head. but I feel a little like dolly, lily, and jane from 9-5 in how many knots I've tied her up in via harnesses and loops and ties and contraptions.

yay! I'm taking Amaya home with me to Missouri for Christmas. I don't normally take her but I don't want to be away from her right now. I'm just so excited she's going to be ok!

results from the vet are very good and she's cancer-free. all very very good! so happy about this.

man, i've been depressed! but tonight Amaya's been playful & loving & seems to be hurting less & man, it makes me feel so much better. i'm all the sudden a little bit hopeful for her recovery. now if she'd just stop taking off her cone...
